Google's Method for Ranking "Influencers" Wait, What?

Did you know that Google has a patent pending for ranking the most influential people on social networking sites? According to an article in BusinessWeek it's true.

Okay, so if I understand this correctly, we will receive a ranking much like our web sites have a PageRank determined by Google.

Wait. What?

Will it also be called PR ranking? As in people ranking?

I can't wait to check this out. According to the article your ranking will be based on social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook and will track not just you but the people you "know" on social networking sites. The more well-connected you are, the better your rank?
